Y aunque en este ámbito hay varias premiaciones, sin duda la más popular es The Game Awards, creada y presentada por Geoff Keighley. Y, finalmente, ya sabemos los nominados de la edición 2019.
Por medio de Twitter y YouTube, Geoff Keighley y las cuentas oficiales de The Game Awards presentaron los videojuegos nominados a todas las categorías. Los contendientes para juego del año serán Control de Remedy Entertainment, Death Stranding de Kojima Productions, Super Smash Bros.
